About David Hinton BSc, PhD, C Eng, C&G (Musical Instrument Repair -Advanced) ncfE (Certificate in Musical Instrument Repair/Construction-Woodwind) Following a professional engineering career with British Gas, David Hinton retrained to become a Musical Instrument Repairer. He attended woodwind and brass instrument repair courses over a number of years at Merton College in South London and gained the City and Guilds and ncfE qualifications there. He is a professional member of the National Association of Musical Instrument Repairers (NAMIR) and has now been repairing instruments for over 10 years. During this time he has repaired more than 3000 instruments which have varied between minor repairs and full overhaul. The majority of his work comes by recommendation particularly from The Musicale in Harpenden. |
